What my students are saying about my german courses:
Robert’s legal German course went beyond my expectations. My legal German skills have improved immensely, a great benefit in my daily work.
Dóra Czégényi, hungarian Lawyer, Berlin
Mr. Glöer is very flexible and customised the course to my wishes and needs. He is gifted and very motivated, loves his job and you notice it. The classes are fun and cover theory, legal vocabulary and grammatical features of the German legal language. Everything is trained with legal contents. For me it was very positive. It´s not easy to find a teacher like Mr. Glöer.
Laia Bardaji-Segui, In-House-Counsel at a waterpower turbines producer, Austria
Robert taught me legal German for three months via Skype. In my job, I am dealing with NPLs and the classes were exactly customised to this subject. A typical class started with a short film, then I answered questions referring to this and we worked on the related vocabulary. Finally Robert explained to me how I could highlight the chances and risks of a particular transaction to my clients. In the next lesson, Robert gave me a paper to repeat the new words from the last lesson. Very, very helpful! I definitely recommend his German legal courses.
Marko Ketler, Lawyer at Karanovic & Nikolic, Slovenia
My legal texts improve more and more due to Roberts course. He has a keen sense for what I want to express and offers several wording alternatives . The focus on style and comprehensibility is also a great help. Very good!
Carolijn, Lawyer at the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, Berlin
For a couple of months, I visited Robert’s course and I am very satisfied with the result. The course is mainly focused on expanding the legal vocabulary. Robert covered the contents I am dealing with in my job, such as private limited company, public limited company, liability and disruption in performance.
Robert’s method is very professional and structured, which I find especially efficient. You always repeat what you have learnt before with specific exercises. Idiomatic structures are taught within the context and similar vocabulary is presented in order to avoid confusing terms.
Last but not least, Robert is very likeable and presents his course with a lot of passion.
I warmly recommend this course to other foreign lawyers who wish to enhance their career in Germany and need support with their legal German.

The German course for Lawyers offers a good preparation to the German LLM.

We are German teachers from Russia and in August 2013 we attended the 30-hour training course „German as a foreign language – legal language“ at the University of Potsdam. Our lecturer Robert Glöer vividly taught basics of German Constitutional Law, Civil Law and Criminal Law to us by using authentic legal cases. In turns we read texts, worked on video examples and had discussions. We greatly deepened our legal vocabulary. Robert is a highly qualified, experienced lecturer and a true expert in his field. Thanks to his training, we are now able to teach courses in German for Lawyers in Russia.

I think this course is a must for foreign law students. If Robert writes a book in the future, I would buy it.

The course was very helpful as an introduction to the German LLM. Mr. Glöer is always open to his students and enjoys teaching.

We are Law students at the university of Sao Paulo and in 2 weeks we are starting a post graduate course in the main features of German Law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. In the preliminary 30-hour course „legal German“ our lecturer Robert Glöer taught us specific legal vocabulary and the essential grammar for our studies. From the first day on he used a very efficient learning technique for memorising legal terms. His combination of linguistic topics with legal content such as German Civil, Administrative and Constitutional Law was excellent. Robert encouraged our judicial discernment. In legal discussions, Robert supported and corrected us both legally and linguistically. We regard this course as indispensable for the successful pursuit of our studies at the LMU and we sincerely thank Robert. We couldn´t ask for a more competent lecturer in this course!
Law students from Sao Paulo, Brasil; Legal German Course, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, 2014
I just finished my first semester of law at Humboldt-University Berlin. Right before, I studied the German legal language for two weeks with Robert Glöer. The course was a great help for my studies. We worked on legal cases from all relevant areas of law, learned the work methods – Gutachtenstil (very important) – and the legal terminology. In regard to vocabulary, Mr. Glöer stressed the idiomatic context – finally we had several lists with noun-verb-combinations – and to learn and memorize them with file cards. As a law student, you have to apply indirect speech (Konjunktiv I and II) and the nominal style. Both were introduced clearly and exercised. According to my experience, general language skills are not enough. Now – after having studied the German LLM for half a year – I can say that this course was great to find into my studies.
Christos Sermie, LLM German Course Berlin, October 2014
After my law studies in Turkey, I went to Germany in order to enroll in a master-program at the University of Bayreuth. In preparation for the program, I studied legal German with a focus on Criminal Law with Robert Glöer. The course covered the systematics of German Criminal Law (substantive law and procedural law) as well as the specific German legal methods. I learned an enormous amount of legal vocabulary. Excursions to the Criminal Court were also part of the class. At the Court, we attended and discussed public trials. This practical approach was always motivating and instructive. As a result of the legal German course I took with Robert, I was perfectly prepared for the master-program in Germany.
